On a cool September morn,
Not unlike any before,
The world would be changed permanently
Lest we forget…
8:46 am,
September 11, 2001
It all began
By 10:29 that same morning
The skyline, and
thousands of lives were altered forever
What was once an engineering marvel
Became a pile of ash, soot and mangled steel
In a little more than an hour,
New Yorkers would feel the wrath of a few religious zealots
Too cowardly to go after anyone other than the innocent
Too wrapped up in prejudiced beliefs to see past their own
hatred
Too emboldened to act out against anyone other than those
who just believed in something else
Anything else other then what they believed
Their attack showed their idiocy
Their attack brought out the best in others
Their attack was just wrong….
